The International Summer School (ISS) at the University of Oslo has offered summer courses since 1947. In 2011 the ISS welcomed 611 students from over 90 countries to six intensive weeks of learning. The application deadline for scholarship applicants is 1 February 2012. The courses run from 23 June - 3 August 2012.

“Conservation of Natural Resources – Some African and Asian Examples” is the title of the almost 500 pages thick book which was handed over in 500 copies as a gift to the University of Dodoma 9 November 2011.

The Government of Norway is convening a high-level conference entitled “Energy for All; Financing Access for the Poor” in Oslo on 10-11 October 2011. The key objective of the conference is to explore financing solutions and supporting policies for increased energy access in the context of a more sustainable energy future.
