A group of 11 Norwegian parliamentarians is visiting Tanzania 22-26 September. Their aim is to learn about Tanzanian strategies to promote decent work in the country, and the mission is part of Norway’s efforts to promote workers’ rights on a global level.

The Pemba Submarine Cable, which will provide the Pembans with electricity, will most likely be ready for use already by Christmas 2009. Norway has allocated 300 million NOK to the project.

A delegation from the Tanzanian Energy and Minerals Committee visited Norway in early March to learn more about Norwegian Petroleum Policy. - We look forward to continue working with Norway in the energy sector, says  Hon. Daniel N. Nsanzugwanko, Leader of Delegation.

Mama Kikwete commends Norway for taking the lead in championing the maternal and child health related Millennium Development Goals.
