Norway’s Budget Support to Tanzania 2006-2008

Norway disbursed its annual tranche of general budget support for financial year 2006/2007 in August. Norway provides Tanzania with budget support in the amount of 170 million Norwegian kroner annually. The budget support is fully aligned with Tanzania’s planning and accounting systems, and it provides the Government of Tanzania with financial resources to implement its Poverty Reduction Strategy (PRS), the MKUKUTA.
3-year agreement with Tanzania The Poverty Reduction Budget Support (PRBS) Facility is open for contribution by all donors and financial institutions that are providing and considering budgetary support. 12 bilateral partners in addition to the World Bank and African Development Bank currently are providing General Budget Support for Tanzania.
Norway has a three-year agreement with Tanzania from 2006 to 2008. Norway is committed to providing a total of NOK 540 million over the three year period or NOK 170 million annually. The annual disbursements of budget support are contingent upon adequate implementation of the MKUKUTA.
