Repayment from MNRT to Norway

After a long and thorough process, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism (MNRT) has now repaid TZS 2,802,480,600.- to Norway. These are funds that were not used according to the agreement on Management of Natural Resources Programme between MNRT and the Royal Norwegian Embassy. Audit reports revealed that some funds could not be accounted for and some funds should not have been covered through the Programme. The total agreed amount has now been repaid. - The repayment opens possibilities for renewed dialogue between Norway and MNRT on further cooperation, says Svein Baera, Minister counselor at the Royal Norwegian Embassy.
