On the 27th October a project run by Norwegian Christian Sports Contact (CHRISC) and Norwegian People’s Aid won a prize for “Best sports event for peace of the year”. The embassy has been supporting Norwegian People’s Aid through the Strategic Partnership agreement.

Norway and 11 other development partners have committed USD 453 million to Tanzania in General Budget Support (GBS). They met with Prime Minister Pinda and a full cabinet of ministers in Dodoma on 13 th of May to discuss how the support can create more growth, less poverty and speed up reforms.

The Annual National Policy Dialogue was held at Ubungo Plaza in Dar es Salaam on the 2nd-8th December, 2010. The end product of this annual event - The Annual National Policy Dialogue Final Report - was signed and made public on April 1st, 2011.

A contract for the second project on National REDD+ Strategy facilitation in Tanzania was signed between the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) and the Institute of Resource Assessment (IRA), in Dar es Salaam on 3rd October 2011, and a financial grant of max. NOK 30 million will cover the costs of the project period October 2011 – September 2013.

On Monday 27 June 2011, in Arusha, Tanzania, a four year memorandum of understanding (MOU) to enter into institutional cooperation was signed by the Commissioner General Mr. Harry Kittilya of the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) and the Director General Mr. Svein Ragnar Kristensen of the Norwegian Tax Administration (NTA).

The Pay for Performance (P4P) pilot programme was successfully launched in Pwani (Coast) region on Wednesday 4th May, with attendance from the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, Pwani Region, Clinton Health Access Initiative, Ifakara Health Institute, Royal Norwegian Embassy and the artist Stara Thomas as well as performers from Taasisi ya Sanaa na Utamaduni Bagamoyo (TaSUBa).
