Visa and other Permits

02/06/2010 // All foreign nationals from countries outside the Schengen area who wish to enter Norway must have a valid passport.

Nationals of countries within the Schengen area must have a valid passport or other identity document which is officially recognized as a valid travel document. Only Nordic nationals travelling in the Nordic countries are exempt from this passport requirement. Foreign nationals from a number of countries outside the Schengen area who intend to visit more than one Schengen country but wish to spend the longest time in Norway, or for whom Norway is the first country they will enter in the Schengen area, must have visa affixed to their passport by a Norwegian foreign service mission or where appropriate the foreign service mission of another Schengen country representing Norway. Everyone requiring a visa must present a valid passport.

The travel insurance must be valid for all Schengen countries – and each person must be insured for a minimum of 30.000 Euros

The Embassy will normally need 5 working days to issue visa.

Visa Requirements  (for Kiswahili version see below)

Tanzanian citizens who wish to visit Norway need to apply for a visa. The requirements for having your application for a visa to Norway processed by the Embassy are as follows:

 

Application form – duly completed and one passport size photo. The photo must be in color and with white background.  DO NOT STAPLE THE PHOTO ON TO THE FORM, USE PAPER CLIP!

 

A valid passport/travel document.  The passport/travel document must be valid for at least three months longer than the date of return to Tanzania and recognised by all parties to the Schengen Agreement.

 

Enough money.  Evidence that you are able to pay for your stay in the Schengen Area (bank statement, travellers' cheques, wage slips)

 

Or

 

Guarantee form filled in by the reference (person inviting you). This form can be obtained from the local police station in Norway and should be notarially certified before it is forwarded - in original - to the applicant or the Embassy. The form can be downloaded from www.udi.no

 

Invitation letter from the reference. If it is a private trip, the letter must contain the following information about the reference:

 

*   Full name

*   Date/year of birth + personal number in Norway (total of 11 numbers

    including date/year of birth)

*   Place of birth

*   Nationality

*   Previous nationality if any

*   If not Norwegian citizen, pls. state immigration status and reference

    No. with Norwegian Immigration Authorities

*   Marital status

*   Residential Address

*   Employer (if any), and employer's address

*   If not employed, how does the reference support him-/herself in

    Norway?

 

In the invitation letter it has to be mentioned what kind of relationship the reference has to the applicant (if related, can this be proved?)

 

Introduction letter  If this is a private visit and you are employed, then you should bring a letter from the employer confirming the employment, and that you will be given leave during the period for which you are applying for a visa.

 

Marriage certificate If you are married and travelling without your spouse, it is advisable that you bring and show your original marriage certificate

 

Confirmed return ticket to Tanzania.  A print out will be sufficient to start with – PLS DO NOT PURCHASE YOUR TICKET BEFORE YOU ARE SURE THAT YOU WILL BE GRANTED A VISA!!

 

Travel Insurance  must be valid for all Schengen countries – and each person must be insured for a minimum of 30.000 Euros

 

It takes a minimum of 5 working days to obtain a visa, so please allow enough time for this process.

 

Sometimes the Embassy forwards the application to the Directorate of Immigration in Oslo, Norway.  When this is the case it can take up to 4 months to get a reply.

 

Visa fee, is currently at TAS 110.000 -  has to be paid when handing in the application.

Fedha za kutosha.  Ushahidi kwamba una uwezo wa kulipia ukaaji wako wa eneo la  Schengen (taarifa ya pesa ya akaunti ya benki, hundi za usafiri, karatasi za mshahara)

Fomu ya dhamana iliyojazwa na mdhamini (mtu anayekualika).  Fomu hii inaweza kupatikana katika kituo cha polisi cha nchini Norway na lazima ithibitishwe rasmi kabla ya kupelekwa – katika fomu halisi – kwenda kwa mwombaji au Ubalozini.

 

Barua ya mwaliko kutoka kwa mdhamini.  Barua lazima iwe na taarifa zifuatazo:

 

*    Jina kamili

*    Tarehe/mwaka wa kuzaliwa + namba yako Norway (Jumla ya namba 11 ikiwa na tarehe/mwaka wa kuzaliwa)

*    Mahali pa kuzaliwa

*    Uraia

*    Uraia wa mwanzo kama upo

*    Kama wewe si raia wa Norway, tafadhali taja cheo chako na namba ya kumbukumbu ya Mamlaka ya Uhamiaji ya  Norway

*    Hati ya ndoa

*    Anwani ya makazi

*    Mwajiri (kama unaye), na anwani ya mwajiri

     - Kama hukuajiriwa, mdhamini wako wa Norway anakusaidiaje?

 

Katika barua ya mwaliko inabidi itajwe aina ya uhusiano alionao mdhamini kwa mwombaji (kama wanahusiana, inaweza kuthibitishwa?)

 

Barua kutoka kwa mwajiri  Kama ni safari ya binafsi na umeajiriwa, unatakiwa kuleta barua ya uthibitisho toka kwa mwajiri, vile vile athibitishe kuwa utapewa likizo kwa muda ulioomba viza

 

Cheti cha ndoa  Kama umeoa/umeolewa na unasafiri bila mume/mke wako, unashauriwa kuleta cheti halisi (original) cha ndoa

 

Tiketi iliyothibitishwa ya kurudi Tanzania.  Nakala ya kuchapisha inatosha kwa kuanzia – TAFADHALI USINUNUE TIKETI YAKO KABLA HUJAWA NA UHAKIKA KUWA UTAPEWA VIZA!!

 

Bima  lazima iweze kutumika katika nchi zote za Schengen – na kila mtu lazima apate bima isiyopungua Euro 30.000

 

Kwa kawaida, inachukua siku za kazi zisizopungua 5 kupata viza, hivyo tafadhali toa nafasi ya kutosha kwa utaratibu huu kufanyika.

 

Wakati mwingine Ubalozi hulazimika kupeleka maombi kwa Ukurugenzi wa Uhamiaji mjini Oslo, Norway.  Inapotokea hivi inaweza kuchukua mpaka miezi 4 kupata jibu.
