Entering Norway

Last updated: 04/02/2011 // All foreign nationals from countries outside the Schengen area who wish to enter Norway must have a valid passport.

Nationals of countries within the Schengen area must have a valid passport or other identity document which is officially recognized as a valid travel document. Only Nordic nationals travelling in the Nordic countries are exempt from this passport requirement. Foreign nationals from a number of countries outside the Schengen area who intend to visit more than one Schengen country but wish to spend the longest time in Norway, or for whom Norway is the first country they will enter in the Schengen area, must have visa affixed to their passport by a Norwegian foreign service mission or where appropriate the foreign service mission of another Schengen country representing Norway. Everyone requiring a visa must present a valid passport.

TRAVEL INSURANCE

 

The travel insurance must be valid for all Schengen countries – and each person must be insured for a minimum of 30.000 Euros

Monday - Thursday  from 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon
Fridays closed

The Visa Section will not receive phone-calls from the public on visa matters outside these hours. 

The Embassy will normally need 15 days to issue visa.
